Jannes teaches educational sessions every year in places such as Coevorden. Some pupils became fans after just one lesson, but of course, there are fans and then there are FANS!
If you're willing to travel for six hours through heavy snowfall, a year and a half later, just to see Jannes's stage show at Archeon, then you're a proper fan! Especially when, much to Jannes's astonishment, you've even had a special Jannes T-shirt made!
We thoroughly enjoyed your show and workshops. You really know how to captivate the children with your medieval tricks, stories and little wordplays. You get them all involved. The lively children calmed down, while the quieter ones really came out of their shells.

Dear all,
May I offer my heartfelt thanks, on behalf of Venlo Library and myself, to Jannes de Goochelaar for the wonderfully entertaining show he gave at De Zuidstroom last Tuesday!
Jannes was also kind enough to perform the show twice, as we have two classes for each of Years 6, 7 and 8. This meant we didn't have to disappoint a single class, and all the children could enjoy his skills! Simply fantastic!
The children and teachers watched Jannes's tricks in utter amazement, with plenty of hearty laughter along the way, while also learning a little about the Middle Ages.

Jannes received a pigeon-mail message from Edward and Adriaan, two Year 8 pupils. They had to interview someone for a school project and, having seen Jannes perform, they really wanted to interview him. Of course, he was happy to oblige, so the very next day they turned up on Jannes's doorstep, accompanied by Edward's mum. (Jannes lives in a 500-year-old medieval house!)
It turned into a lovely interview, with some great questions, such as: “Does anything ever go wrong?” and “Do you ever reveal your tricks?” Jannes does let people in on a secret now and then, so Edward and Adriaan got to learn a few tricks themselves. They've got talent!
Afterwards, we took this photo, with Jannes performing the ‘scary’ trick of pushing a knife through his nose, while Edward and Adriaan pretend to be absolutely terrified…

Our evening at Archeon, with the Spartacus show, couldn't have been better. Or so we thought, as we sat back with a drink, savouring the experience in the Roman tavern. Until suddenly, an intriguing figure appeared behind us and, with a few well-chosen words and tricks, made our evening even more wonderful.
